One Dog and Two Birds

Joining the BLOGATHON 2007 July 21, 2007

Inspired by our friend Perfect Tosca, we are jumping into the arena for Blogathon 2007. It took us a while to decide how we were going to come up with 49 posts in a 24 hour period, sleep deprived. Since we are blogging for charity to donate to the Eau Claire County Humane Association, WI, we came up with this idea:

In the next week, starting Sunday, We, along with Amy will visit the following four Humane Associations, that are close to our home in Owen, WI.

  1. Eau Claire County Humane Association, Eau Claire, WI
  2. Clark County Humane Association, Neilsville, WI
  3. Chippewa County Humane Asociation, Chippewa Falls, WI, and
  4. Marathon County Humane Association, Wausau, WI.

We will take pictures of the dogs that are in need of homes and those that have found homes in these humane societies, learn about them and spend time with each of them, playing and petting.

On July 28, 2007, starting at 6 a.m. we will write a post, every 30 minutes, about these animals, interspersed, of course with posts on our One Dog and Two Birds. Also featuring are guest bloggers - staff who have been working with the animals at these Humane Associations!

Further more, as we could donate to only one organization of our choice through Blogathon, we decided to donate to the Eau Claire County Humane Association - from where we adopted our wonderful Amy and the little guy Nikko. However, as we are also featuring dogs from three other humane associations, we are pledging 10 percent of what our sponsors donate to ECCHA, to these other groups. Thats right! we will be donating 30 % of donations to ECCHA to the other three groups. Do you need more reason to sponsor us?

    Visiting the shelter and taking pictures is such a great idea! I always blog for a dog rescue and I post pictures & info about their available pets, but you will have actually met the dogs which will make your posts more personal. I will be sure to stop by during the Blogathon to see how it’s going. I’d sponsor you if I wasn’t totally broke. Good luck and have fun!
