Adoption and Adoption Days

Yesterday was Nikko’s first adoption day. We can’t believe it is already an year since the little guy came into our lives, and , that he is almost 3 years old! Nikko is getting a new happy hut and we all had loads of cinnamon coffee cake last night.

Do I look like I am 3?

And tomorrow is Amy’s adoption day too! She already got a whole bunch of new toys, including, of course, a tennis ball. She has been going crazy with all the new toys to play with.

Wanna come and play?

The biggest news of all is about Pepper. We have now officially adopted Pepper! She acts like she knows it too :) Overall, we need to have a big adoption day bash here.

What took you guys so long?

Apple season

Its Apple season again and our tree in the front yard is loaded with apples. Its so heavy that one branch almost touches the ground.

Needless to say, there is a lot falling on the ground too and what do we do with them?

Did we say we like Apples?

See, I am such a good doggie, I eat an apple a day :)

Blogathon 2007 - Post 33 - 12.00 AM

We visited the Chippewa County Humane Association on Thursday and were helped by two high schoolers, in handling the animals and getting more info about them. Not only were they sooo helpful to us, they even petted Amy, which is like icing on the cake for her, after playing with the dogs. It was pouring when we went there too, and we spent all our time indoors. We visited with fewer dogs, but spent more time playing with them. Amy getting attention from Gina and Derek. Gina has been working / volunteering at this HA for the past five years and Derek, the last one and half years. They are adorable!

We usually feed Amy around 8pm. However, with the blogathon we slipped up a little bit on our schedule. It was 8.00 pm when we finally realized that she was not fed. Whew! that was close. - Shankar.

Where is my food? Hello, anybody out there?

Amy’s Thought Bubble: It has been a slow day for me! Mommy & Daddy do not pay attention or want to throw balls for me to fetch. What has happened to this household? I even have to compete with the laptop! :(

Is it 8 Am on Sunday yet?

Buck is a one year old Lab-shepherd mix, who found his way to ECCHA, as a stray. He has been in the humane association for about 15 days. He is a big friendly doggie, who knows to open doors with a pull down handle. From the second he entered the room, he had eyes only for Amy and just wanted to play. We let them both off - leash and both of them had a great time.

Nikko was getting noisy with all the inactivity around him. We let him take a short nap (in the other room). After a while everyone decided it was snack time.

Here is pepper snacking on a peanut!

Nikko quite content with his snack!

Amy having a bite for her too!

About

This is a blog about our three pets - AMY - an adopted black-lab mix, who is a little more than 2 years old, but still thinks she is a puppy, NIKKO - a 10+ Jenday Conure, who is the little terror in our home and thinks he is a dog, and PEPPER, a 10+ Nanday Conure, who is the baby of the household. We have brought more joy in our lives with bringing them home. Hope you enjoy reading about them and tell us in your comments.
